Congratulations to 2001 Graduating Chief Residents

Pittsburgh, June 15, 2001 -- The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh is proud to offer congratulations to its 2001 graduating chief residents, Drs. Todd Thompson, John B. Wahlig, Jr. and Tim Witham. The three were honored in a formal ceremony at Pittsburgh's Duquesne Club on June 15 attended by faculty members, family and friends.

Thompson is headed off to sunny Honolulu, Hawaii where he will begin his career as the chief of neurosurgery at the Straub Hospital and Clinic. Wahlig will be joining the private practice of Dr. Kevin Mullins in Brightwaters, Long Island. Witham is headed to Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi where he will begin fulfilling a four-year commitment to the Air Force. He has expressed interests in eventually practicing academic neurosurgery.
