Pittsburgh, September 22, 2004 -- Mitchel S. Berger, MD, professor and chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California San Francisco, spoke to faculty and residents on glial neoplasms Wednesday, September 22 at the Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh as part of the department's visiting lecture series. Earlier in the day Dr. Berger took part in the department's regular Wednesday afternoon conference series.
Dr. Berger’s principal clinical interests lie in adult and neurosurgical oncology, in particular mapping the brain to achieve maximal resection of brain tumors and related epileptogenic foci for adults and children. He has been cited among the best doctors in the nation and in his own community by a number of peer-nominated referral guides and, among other similar awards, in 2004 he was honored with the UCSF Medical Center THANKS Star Award for exceptional contribution, an award based on patients’ nominations. |
