Pittsburgh, July 8, 2010 -- Fady T. Charbel, MD, FACS, head of the Department of Neurosurgery and chief of the Neurovascular Section at the University of Illinois at Chicago, presented a lecture on vertebrobasilar ischemic disease, July 7, as part of the department's on-going visiting professor lecture series.
Dr. Charbel -- an expert in the surgical treatment of aneurysms, the diagnosis and management of stroke and ischemic cerebrovascular disease, and a variety of other neurosurgical problems -- also participated in the department's weekly conferences.
Dr. Charbel was also the guest of honor at a dinner and reception held later in the evening at the Duquesne Club where he presented a second lecture, entitled “The Art & Science of ECIC Bypass Surgery."
