Pittsburgh, November 8, 2024 -- D. Kojo Hamilton, MD, professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and director of UPMC’s neurological spine services, was presented with a Larry E. Davis Black Excellence in the Academy Award by the University of Pittsburgh Office of the Provost at a special reception and dinner held at Pittsburgh's Heinz History Center, November 7.
In acknowledging Dr. Hamilton's accomplishments, the Provost Office noted in the event program, "As a distinguished professor, director of neurological surgery spine services, and champion for diversity in medicine, Dr. Hamilton has demonstrated exceptional leadership through his commitment to surgical excellence, medical education, and the intentional advancement of underrepresented students in healthcare."
